Giro Classico dei Pretendenti

Dear Pretenders,

Tour Update...

Depending on which weather service you want to believe, we may or may not be riding on Thursday and Friday.  I will send out another update Wed night but the bottom line is, if it is raining, sleep in.  I will not send out any cancellation notices the morning of the rides.  Email me if you are unsure.

Wednesday.  Since Thursday and/or Friday are questionable, I plan on being at Cooper River by around 2:30 to get in a few more miles.  Forecast is for good temps but windy. Come out early and join me if you can.  Will still gather at 3:30 at the parking lot.

Thursday.  Likely sleeping in but if we get lucky, the rain will hold off until late morning and we may get a short ride in.  I will have a 40+/- mi route without a stop ready should we need to get back earlier.

Friday.  One weather service calls for rain ending at 8:00 am Friday morning then reasonably nice the remainder of the day.  If that forecast holds, we will push the start back accordingly.  Will make that decision Thursday PM. Note:  Heather will have the Fitness Zone Studio open before and after the ride with restrooms available - please don't torment her customers!

Saturday.  Looks like a great day, cool and windy but this is November after all and the route is generally protected after we get off West River Drive.

Sunday.  Too early to trust the forecasts but looks like it will be another great day to ride in NJ.

Please forward this to any non-Summit member that you know of who is planning on riding with us.

Bill

Spread the word!  Its the The Pretender's Tour  -- the annual classic end-of-season challenge of five rides over five consecutive days over the extended Thanksgiving Day weekend.  Already loosing fitness?  Then this is the perfect kickstart to your off season training program.   Again this year, weather permitting, we will transfer out of the state for one mountain stage in the hills west of Philadelphia.  Otherwise we will generally stick to our favorite South Jersey roads with a few twists to keep things interesting.  Pace will typically be 18-22 mph with a few breakaways and we will regroup as necessary.  You need not ride all 5 days to participate.
